Oak Tree Play & Resource Centre - Toy Library
The NWLCVS Toy Library provides an accessible and inclusive service, offering up to date information, training, resources and the loan of toys, books and equipment to all areas of the community, thus enabling networking of children, parents, childcare providers and specialist services.
Catalogues are available displaying the large range of toys, books and equipment, which are suitable for children of all ages, with additional literature for parents, carers and professionals.
The Toy Library has large stocks, which are available on loan basis to families, professionals and organisations.
Access is via membership to the Resource Centre which is renewable annually and entitles members to borrow up to 6 toys or games for up to 4 weeks Free of Charge.
The annual membership fees (Per Annum pa )are as follows:-
Parents £10.00 pa
Private business £20.00 pa
Voluntary Groups £5.00 pa
Those in receipt of benefit £5.00 pa
Local authority Groups £15.00 pa
Childminders £15.00 pa
Young people under 16 £2.50 pa
Schools and community groups can arrange to borrow themed boxes to compliment term time programmes and projects by arrangement.
All items meet safety standards but it is the adult's responsibility to ensure when borrowing items that they are suitable for the age of the child and stage of development.
We encourage the reporting of broken or damaged items to ensure safety standards are maintained.
Supplies of play materials can be made available for purchase through the Resource Centre.
The Toy Library provides an informal meeting place for children, parents and carers within The Marlene Reid Centre.
Tuesday mornings 10.00am - 12 noon
and
Thursday afternoons 1.00pm - 3.00pm
Children attending the Centre remain the responsibility of parents/carers at all times.
